Antique dealers and shell artists Jackie and Don Mercier from Arundle, Maine have a terrific website www.windchimeantiques.com
. On their site you can purchase antiques and art pottery or score a great deal on their meticulously executed shellwork.
SHELL ART BOOKS. These 3 books on shell art are in my view the very best written on the subject. The blue" Sailors' Valentines" book by Fonda gives wonderful close up views of antique sv's mostly from Barbados. "Sailors' Valentines Their Journey Through Time" by Grace Madiera and friends is breathtaking. It primarily features sv's created by the best modern makers. . "Neptune's Treasures" by Carole & Richard Smyth was privately published in 1998. The Smyth's book shows fabulous examples of antique shell art in a variety of forms. This is a much coveted title for shell art collectors with few copies surfacing.
